Market Conditions Report- Quarter 2 and 3 2023

As the economy and consumer habits shift, so has the supply chain. In many areas, reduced lead times with stable pricing are occurring. High-end products continue to have long lead times with some decline in the near future expected. Here at Burton EMS, we continue to suggest long term forecasts from our customers to ensure accurate production planning.

-Batteries:  Stable pricing and stable lead times: 16-24 weeks

Quarter 3: Pricing and lead times stabilizing.

-Connectivity:

               -Wi-Fi Modules: Stable pricing with some mixed trends in lead times: 24-52 weeks

Quarter 3: Some lead times decreasing, pricing stable.

               -Bluetooth Modules: Stable pricing with stable lead times: 26-50 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Some lead times decreasing, pricing stable.

-Discretes: Decreasing lead times with stable pricing: 18-52 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Pricing continues to be stable; Lead times continue to decrease apart from Littelfuse (increase of lead times on Mosfets; 50-54 weeks).

-Electromechanical:

               -Switches: Stable pricing with stable lead times: 12-32 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

               -Fans: Stable pricing with stable lead times: 12-42 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

-High End:

               -Microchip: Stable pricing and mixed results for lead times on MCU (8 bit & 32 bit), PHY/Ethernet, USB, and 32-bit MPU: 30-52+ weeks

                        Quarter 3: Some decrease in lead times; pricing stable.

               -NXP: Stable pricing and decreasing lead times for 8-bit MCU, Automotive, Network Processors, and 32-bit MCU: 18-52 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.  

               -Renesas: Stable pricing with mixed results on lead times: 18-26 weeks for 8-bit, 32-bit MCUs, and 32-bit MPU. Automotive stable at 45 weeks.

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

               -STI: Stable pricing and overall decrease in leads times for 8-bit MCU, Automotive, 32-bit MCU, and 32-bit MPU: 16-52 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.  

Passives:

               -Trimmers & Pots: Mixed stable with some increased pricing and mixed results on lead times: 10-25 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

  -Electrolytic: Stable pricing with a decrease in lead times: 30-32 weeks

                        Quarter 3: Decreasing lead times with stable pricing.

  -Capacitors (film): Stable pricing with stable lead times: 24-52+

Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

  -Capacitors (tantalum): Stable pricing with decreasing lead times: 12-22 weeks

Quarter 3: Stable with Quarter 2 results.

  -Capacitors (polymer tantalum): Stable pricing with stable lead times: 12-24 weeks

-Filters: Mixed stable and increased pricing with mixed results in lead times: 12-45 weeks

  -Inductors: Stable pricing with stable lead times: 12-40 weeks

  -Fixed Resistors: Stable pricing with decrease in lead times: 20-52+ weeks

  -Resistor Networks: Stable pricing with stable lead times: 18-28 weeks

-Surface Mount General Capacitors (ceramic):  Stable pricing with stable lead times on Automotive Grade and other Ceramic: 10-40 weeks
